Production Manager - Muscat, Oman

Job Overview
The Production Manager will be the key person responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling production processes to ensure goods are delivered efficiently, on time, to the agreed quality standards, and within budget. This role operates in a dynamic environment that requires decisive leadership and high flexibility in dealing with day-to-day operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee Production Operations: Plan and organize production schedules to meet the company's operational and strategic objectives.
- Resource Management: Take full responsibility for the workforce in the production department, raw materials, and equipment to ensure optimal utilization.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce stringent quality control standards at all stages of the manufacturing process to ensure the final product meets specifications.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all production processes comply with local health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in production processes, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to increase productivity and reduce costs and waste.
- Team Management: Lead, guide, and motivate the production team, including training, development, and conducting performance appraisals.
- Cross-Department Coordination: Work closely with other departments such as Procurement, Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics to ensure workflow smoothness.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on production performance, efficiency, issues, and proposed solutions for senior management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Academic Degree: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or equivalent) or in Business Administration with an industrial focus. A Master's degree may be an added advantage.
- Experience: A minimum of 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in production or manufacturing, with a progressive career path demonstrating at least 3 years in a leadership role (as Production Manager or Senior Supervisor).
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Total Quality Control (TQC), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and production software.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a large and diverse team, with excellent communication and delegation skills.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
- Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is a significant advantage.
