Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Project Engineer will be integrated into the Plumbing works division and will bear responsibility for the technical and administrative oversight of plumbing projects from initial planning through to final handover. The core responsibilities associated with this position are expected to include:

• Planning and Supervision: Developing detailed execution plans for plumbing projects, ensuring alignment with technical specifications, allocated budgets, and strict project timelines.
• Resource Management: Directly supervising on-site work teams and technicians, ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Coordination: Acting as the central liaison between company management, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and other engineering disciplines (MEP) to ensure seamless integration of all works.
• Technical Review: Reviewing engineering drawings and schematics for plumbing, drainage, and sanitary systems, and preparing technical reports.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensuring all works adhere to local and international specifications, as well as the applicable building codes and regulations in the Emirate of Dubai, with a strong emphasis on health and safety standards.
• Quality Control: Conducting regular inspections to verify the quality of materials used and the accuracy of workmanship at every stage of the project.
• Problem-Solving: Identifying technical or operational challenges that arise during execution and proposing effective, timely solutions.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a directly related field specializing in plumbing and sanitary works.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in managing plumbing projects within the construction industry. Prior experience in the UAE or GCC market will be a significant advantage.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of cold and hot water systems, sanitary drainage, firefighting systems, and ventilation.
• Managerial Skills: Proven ability in project management, budget control, scheduling, and team leadership.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and negotiation skills. The ability to work under pressure and resolve challenges effectively is crucial.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in standard computer software and relevant Computer-Aided Design (CAD) applications.
• Language: Fluency in English for written and verbal communication is required. Knowledge of Arabic will be a strong additional asset.
