QA QC Engineer - Petroleum Construction Company, Doha

Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The selected engineer will be responsible for ensuring all construction processes and engineering activities on the company's petroleum projects comply with the highest required local and international quality and safety standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing project-specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC Plans).
- Conducting periodic inspection and audit activities at construction sites and fabrication yards to ensure materials and workmanship conform to approved technical specifications and regulations.
- Reviewing and approving quality documentation such as Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Material Test Certificates (MTCs), and inspection records.
- Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and subcontractors to promote a culture of quality and compliance.
- Investigating non-conformance reports (NCRs), establishing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and following up on their implementation.
- Preparing regular quality reports and performance statistics for presentation to senior management.
- Ensuring compliance with global industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASME, API) and any client-specific requirements.
- Participating in design reviews and pre-construction meetings from a quality assurance perspective.
- Training and raising awareness among work teams on applicable quality procedures and systems.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Professional Certifications: Professional certifications in quality management such as CQE, CQA, or Lead Auditor ISO 9001 are highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a QA/QC Engineer role, with a strong focus on petroleum construction, oil & gas, or petrochemical plant projects. Experience in a contracting environment is essential.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of quality standards and specifications relevant to the oil and gas industry (e.g., ASME Section VIII, API 650), welding procedures, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods.
- Personal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Arabic/English), with the ability to write precise technical reports. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical abilities, a keen attention to detail, and the capacity to work under pressure in field locations.
- Residency: Candidates already residing in Qatar with a transferable work permit (NOC) will be preferred.
