Job Description
The appointed Quantity Surveyor will undertake a range of critical tasks and key responsibilities focused on the financial and estimation aspects of projects, including:
- Preparing and analyzing accurate bills of quantities and measurements for construction materials and works required in projects.
- Monitoring costs and preparing regular financial reports on project progress against the approved budget.
- Preparing and verifying payment documents for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assisting in the preparation of project tenders by providing initial cost estimates.
- Evaluating variations in the scope of work and estimating their financial value.
- Working closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure financial efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with agreed terms and contracts.
- Conducting post-project cost analysis and providing lessons learned.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be eligible for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or any related field in quantity and cost management.
- Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in quantity surveying, preferably on construction or infrastructure projects in the Gulf region.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in measurement and estimation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, CostX, or similar).
- Deep knowledge of construction methods and market prices in Kuwait.
- Full understanding of the principles of drafting and reading engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Personal Skills:
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and monitoring skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills in both Arabic and English.
