Job Description

The Reservations Agent will be the primary point of contact for handling all room booking inquiries and requests received by the hotel. This position is a cornerstone of the sales and revenue department, ensuring the first professional interaction with a potential guest. Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving all reservation requests made via telephone, email, or through the hotel's central reservation system.
  • Providing accurate and clear information to customers regarding available room types, rates, promotional offers, and hotel facilities and services.
  • Processing and inputting reservations into the hotel's property management system (PMS) with high accuracy and security.
  • Handling modifications or cancellations for existing bookings in accordance with hotel policies.
  • Working closely with other hotel departments such as Front Office and Sales to ensure correct information flow and guest satisfaction.
  • Contributing to revenue goals by upselling appropriate rooms and optimizing occupancy rates.
  • Maintaining an updated and accurate customer database.
  • Handling complex reservation-related complaints or inquiries professionally and resolving issues efficiently.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Educational Qualifications: A diploma or university degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field. Extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of previous experience in a similar role (Reservations Agent, Customer Service Representative) within the hotel or tourism industry. Experience with major hotel reservation systems (e.g., Opera, Fidelio) is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel and Outlook).
  • Personal Skills:
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
    • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining composure and professionalism under pressure.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and processing.
    • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
