Job Description

The Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all local and international occupational health and safety standards on the project site. He/She will work closely with management teams, contractors, and engineers to establish and maintain a strong safety culture. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing project-specific Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) plans and procedures.
• Conducting regular inspections and audits of work sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigating accidents and near-miss incidents to determine root causes and develop recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Delivering training and awareness sessions for company staff and contractors on safety policies and procedures.
• Reviewing work plans and methodologies to ensure safety considerations are incorporated.
• Preparing periodic reports on safety performance and accident statistics for company management.
• Staying updated on new laws, regulations, and standards related to occupational health and safety in the State of Kuwait.
• Coordinating with relevant government authorities regarding safety licenses and requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field) or in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Professional Certifications: Possession of internationally recognized safety certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in a Safety Engineer or Safety Supervisor role, preferably within the construction or major engineering projects sector.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management systems and procedures. Strong familiarity with Kuwaiti safety laws and regulations.
• Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to lead and train diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software.

Work Location and Environment
