A prominent market player is seeking to hire a Sales / Business Development Engineer to join its dynamic team in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Sales/Business Development Engineer will be responsible for driving commercial growth efforts in the Omani and potential international market. The focus will be on specific technical sectors, requiring a deep understanding of the engineering or technological solutions offered by the company.

The core expected responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and targeting new business opportunities with potential clients in both public and private sectors.
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term working relationships with existing and new clients.

  • Preparing and delivering technical and commercial proposals, and negotiating contracts and terms.

Qualifications & Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following specifications:

Essential Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Telecommunications, or a related technical field). A Master's in Business Administration or Marketing may be an added advantage.
  • Proven work experience of at least 3 to 5 years in a similar role (Sales Engineer, Business Development Engineer, or Technical Sales Representative).
  • Strong understanding of products and services within the company's technical or engineering sector.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to comprehend and prepare technical documentation and proposals.
  • A proactive, self-motivated personality with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Possession of a valid driving license and own vehicle (typically required for client visits).

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience working in the Omani or wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market.
  • Knowledge of government and commercial tender and contract procedures in the region.
  • An existing professional network within the local industrial or technical sector.
