Job Description
The Sales Engineer in this role will be responsible for leading the commercial and technical efforts for fire and water protection products and services. This position acts as a crucial link between the company and its clients, requiring a deep understanding of the products and the ability to provide integrated engineering solutions.
Key Expected Responsibilities:
- Technical Sales Development: Provide technical support and consultancy to potential and existing clients regarding optimal insulation and protection solutions.
- Tender and Proposal Preparation: Analyze project requirements and prepare accurate, competitive technical and commercial proposals for fire and water proofing systems.
- Sales Cycle Management: Manage opportunities from initial lead generation to deal closure, including conducting presentations and technical clarifications.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with consulting engineers, contractors, real estate developers, and project managers in the Omani market.
- Post-Sales Support: Coordinate with execution and customer service teams to ensure client satisfaction and the proper implementation of solutions as per agreed specifications.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, competition, and identify new growth opportunities within Oman's construction sector.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this position, you are expected to meet the following criteria:
Educational Background and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related field).
- Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in a similar role (Sales Engineer or Technical Sales Representative), preferably within the building materials, insulation systems, or fire protection systems sector.
- In-depth technical knowledge of fireproofing and waterproofing systems, their applications, and relevant international standards (e.g., NFPA, BS).
- Experience working within the construction industry in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, with prior experience in the Omani market being a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office and tender preparation software.
Personal and Professional Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to non-technical clients.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve sales targets.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented spirit.
- High organizational skills and effective time management with the ability to handle multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Possession of a valid driving license.
Work Environment and Location
This role will be primarily field-based, requiring frequent travel to visit clients and project sites across the Sultanate of Oman, with a likely home base in a major city like Muscat.
