SAP ABAP/4 Developer - Diyar United Company, Muscat

Diyar United Company is currently seeking a skilled SAP ABAP/4 Developer to join its technical team at its headquarters in Muscat, Oman. This position presents an excellent opportunity for experienced SAP programmers to work within a well-established company in the Omani and Gulf market.

Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The selected developer will be placed within the Information Technology team and will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and customization of SAP solutions using the ABAP/4 language. Core responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing business requirements and designing effective technical solutions within the SAP system.
• Developing, modifying, and debugging programs, reports, and interfaces (RICEF objects: Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms) using ABAP/4.
• Working on the integration of the SAP system with other external systems (RFCs, BAPIs, IDocs).
• Developing and implementing enhancements and modifications using technologies such as User Exits, BADIs, and the Enhancement Framework.
• Designing and developing Smart Forms and SAP Script for printing solutions.
• Writing ALV (ABAP List Viewer) codes for interactive data display.
• Participating in the full project lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
• Ensuring code quality and performance according to best practices and company standards.
• Providing technical support and troubleshooting operational issues related to developed applications.
• Collaborating closely with Functional Consultants and the business team to accurately understand requirements.

Qualifications and Key Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in SAP ABAP/4 development.
• In-depth knowledge of core SAP architecture and technologies.
• Strong experience in developing various ABAP object types such as: Report Programs, Interface programs, Print Forms, and System Enhancements.
• A good understanding of SAP functional modules (such as FI, CO, MM, SD) will be a significant added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex issues.
• The ability to work effectively both within a team and independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in English for the work environment. Knowledge of Arabic will be beneficial.
