Job Overview
The SAP (SD) Business Process Specialist will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and developing the business processes related to the complete sales and distribution cycle within the system. This role is pivotal in bridging sales management, logistics, customer relationship management, and financial aspects to ensure seamless and efficient operations that support business objectives.
Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties
- Process Analysis & Design: Analyze current and future business requirements related to sales, order management, billing, and distribution processes, and translate them into effective solutions and configurations within the SAP SD system.
- Support & Configuration: Provide ongoing support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary configurations in areas such as: customer master data, product pricing, order processing, shipping, billing, and revenue recognition.
- Testing & Deployment: Lead or participate in unit testing and integration testing for new changes or projects, ensuring successful deployment without disrupting ongoing operations.
- Cross-Module Integration: Work closely with other SAP module teams like Materials Management (MM) and Financial Accounting/Controlling (FI/CO) to ensure seamless integration of sales data and processes across the system landscape.
- Training & Documentation: Develop user training materials and document work procedures and configurations to maintain organizational knowledge.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales and distribution cycle.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Work Experience: Proven hands-on experience of at least 3-5 years in configuring and supporting the SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) module. Experience in an industrial, logistics, or retail environment is a strong advantage.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of end-to-end sales and distribution cycle processes. Strong knowledge of key SAP SD configurations (e.g., order types, delivery schedules, pricing procedures, billing document types).
- Integration Skills: Experience with the integration between the SD module and other SAP modules, particularly FI (Finance) and MM (Materials Management).
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and investigative skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. Strong problem-solving skills for complex issues and the ability to work under pressure.
- Additional Knowledge: Familiarity with project management principles (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) is highly regarded.
Job Location
This position is based in the Sultanate of Oman. Some roles of this nature may require travel between company locations within the Sultanate.
