Job Requirements and Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Qualification: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as: Technology Education, Industrial Design, Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Architecture), or a similar technical discipline. A postgraduate degree or teaching specialization certificates are preferred.
- Teaching Certification: Possession of a recognized teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, teaching license, or equivalent) is a significant and highly desirable advantage.
- Experience: Proven practical experience teaching Design Technology or similar subjects (e.g., Engineering, Design & Innovation, Technology) at the secondary school level. Experience in international schools or those following a British curriculum (such as IGCSE or A-Level) is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong practical knowledge of technical processes and principles, including technical drawing (manual and digital like CAD), modeling, the use of workshop tools and machinery, and potentially basic programming or electronics for projects.
- Personal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with secondary school students, enthusiasm for teaching, flexibility, and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Other Requirements: Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential (as the primary medium of instruction). Knowledge of Arabic can be an additional advantage but is not always a core requirement in many international schools.
