SEN & Learning Support Teacher - Saudi Arabia

Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The successful teacher in this role will work within a supportive educational team dedicated to providing an inclusive and effective learning environment. The core responsibilities will focus on:
- Planning and delivering individualized and group lessons and activities specifically designed to meet the diverse needs of students with learning difficulties or special educational needs.
- Providing direct in-class support working closely with mainstream classroom teachers to ensure all students are engaged in the learning process.
- Regularly assessing student needs and developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with parents and the support specialist team.
- Utilizing innovative and appropriate teaching strategies and tools suited to different learning styles to enhance student understanding and motivation.
- Monitoring and accurately evaluating student progress, preparing detailed reports on their academic and social development.
- Providing guidance, emotional, and social support to students to build their self-confidence and promote independence.
- Acting as an effective liaison between the school and students' parents, offering necessary advice and support to families.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
To be a suitable candidate for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field. A postgraduate or specialized certification in SEN is a strong advantage.
- Practical Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 years working as a Learning Support Teacher or SEN Teacher in a school setting.
- Theoretical Knowledge: A deep understanding of various types of learning difficulties (such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD) and best practices in addressing them.
- Personal Skills:
- High levels of patience and strong empathy for students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to dynamic work environments.
- Initiative and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Additional Requirements: Previous experience working in international schools or within the Gulf region is preferred.
