This position represents a critical leadership and advisory role within Qatar's rapidly evolving healthcare sector, aimed at integrating modern technology with clinical practices to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Senior Clinical Informatics Consultant will occupy a pivotal role in leading and transforming healthcare operations through technological solutions. The core responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide high-level strategic consultancy to clients in the healthcare sector (hospitals, clinics, health organizations) on the adoption, implementation, and optimization of health information systems such as Electronic Patient/Health Records (EPR/EHR), Clinical Decision Support Systems, and analytics platforms.
  • Process Analysis and Design: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and administrators to understand current clinical and administrative workflows, and design technology-enabled improved processes to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Project Management and Implementation: Lead or oversee projects for implementing health information systems, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget while achieving the desired objectives.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Develop and execute training programs for end-users (medical and nursing staff) to ensure optimal and effective utilization of the implemented systems.
  • Performance Evaluation and Metrics: Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of technological solutions on care quality, patient experience, and return on investment, and prepare regular reports for management.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in health informatics (e.g., AI, IoMT, predictive analytics) and provide recommendations for adopting innovative solutions.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Health Informatics, Medicine, Nursing, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems. A Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical or Health Informatics will be a significant competitive advantage.
  • Professional Experience: At least 7 to 10 years of experience in health/clinical informatics, with a substantial portion in a consulting or leadership capacity. Hands-on experience in implementing Electronic Patient Record systems (e.g., Cerner, Epic, MEDITECH) is essential.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of health exchange standards (HL7, FHIR), privacy and security regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and clinical workflow engineering.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders, from clinical staff to C-level executives. Strong analytical and complex problem-solving abilities.
