Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Senior Network Architect will be entrusted with a range of critical and leadership-oriented tasks, including but not limited to:

• Design and Planning: Lead the design and planning of complex, scalable network architectures (LAN, WAN, WLAN) that meet current and future business and client requirements. This includes selecting appropriate hardware and technologies.
• Implementation and Management: Oversee the implementation of new network projects and upgrades to existing infrastructure. Manage and configure network devices from leading vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and others.
• Cybersecurity Integration: Embed security principles into the core network architecture. Design and implement firewall policies, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), and Virtual Private Network (VPN) solutions to secure data and resources.
• Troubleshooting and Resolution: Act as an expert consultant for resolving high-level, complex issues affecting network performance or availability. Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.
• Documentation and Development: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network design, configurations, and operational procedures. Stay abreast of the latest networking trends and technologies, recommending adoptions that align with the company's strategy.
• Support and Mentorship: Provide guidance and technical support to the network team. This may involve training less experienced team members on new technologies and best practices.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a strong plus.
• Professional Experience: Proven experience of 7-10 years in network engineering, with a significant portion in architectural or planning roles. Previous experience in a service provider or systems integrator environment is a major advantage.
• Professional Certifications: Must hold industry-recognized expert-level certifications, such as:
  • CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) in Routing & Switching or Security.
  • JNCIE (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert).
  • Similar advanced certifications from Palo Alto Networks (PCNSE), Fortinet (NSE7/NSE8), or others.
• Technical Skills: Deep mastery of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies (VLAN, STP, VTP). Strong experience in network security technologies, VoIP systems, and cloud-related networking (AWS, Azure).
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities for complex issues under pressure. Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English. Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently. Leadership skills in managing projects and technical initiatives.
