Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager (Power) will occupy a central role, bearing full responsibility for leading, planning, executing, and delivering major power projects from inception to completion. The core responsibilities will focus on:

• Strategic Leadership: Leading a cross-functional team of engineers and specialists to ensure project objectives are met within the defined scope, required quality, approved timeline, and budget.
• End-to-End Project Lifecycle Management: Overseeing all project phases, from initial planning and feasibility studies, through design, procurement, and on-site execution, to final commissioning and handover.
• Risk and Quality Management: Identifying and assessing potential risks at various project stages and developing proactive mitigation plans. Ensuring all work complies with standard technical specifications and the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Stakeholder Management: Acting as the primary liaison between all project stakeholders, including senior management, clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities. Preparing detailed periodic progress reports.
• Budget and Schedule Control: Developing detailed budgets and meticulously monitoring expenditures to ensure adherence to financial allocations. Efficiently managing the project schedule to avoid delays.
• Power Sector Focus: Applying specialized expertise in power sector projects, which may include generation plants, transmission and distribution networks, renewable energy projects, or control systems.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To qualify for this leadership role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or a related field) from an accredited university. A Master's degree or advanced professional certifications (e.g., PMP) are a significant advantage.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 to 15 years of hands-on experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project management, with a strong and consistent focus on the Power sector. Experience must include managing several complex, large-scale projects from concept to handover.
• Technical and Managerial Skills:
  • Profound mastery of project management principles and tools (PMI).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the technical standards and regulations specific to the power sector in the Gulf region.
  • Strong financial acumen in budgeting and cost control.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Personal and Leadership Skills:
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards goal achievement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage relationships with clients and contractors.
