Job Description

The appointed Social Studies Teacher will play a pivotal role in developing students' critical understanding, cultural awareness, and social consciousness. Key responsibilities will include:

• Planning & Development: Preparing and delivering comprehensive and engaging lesson plans for Social Studies, aligned with the approved curriculum and best pedagogical practices.
• Teaching & Assessment: Instructing students using a variety of teaching strategies to cater to different learning styles. Regularly assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Creating a Learning Environment: Fostering a respectful, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages open discussion and analytical thinking.
• Integration & Application: Connecting Social Studies concepts (such as history, geography, citizenship, economics) to current events and global issues to promote meaningful learning.
• Collaboration: Working closely with fellow subject teachers and administration to support the school's overall educational goals and participating in professional development activities.
• Parent Communication: Maintaining effective and constructive communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and achievement.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Education (Social Studies specialization) OR a Bachelor's degree in History, Geography, Political Science, or a related field with a teaching qualification certificate (PGCE or equivalent).
• Experience: Proven previous experience teaching Social Studies at primary or secondary school levels. Experience with international curricula or private education settings is preferred.
• Personal Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm in teaching methodologies.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Administrative Requirements: Must be eligible to obtain a work permit in the State of Kuwait in accordance with local laws and regulations.
