Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The Senior Category Manager will hold a central role in leading and developing one or more categories on the Talabat platform in Oman. You will be responsible for the end-to-end growth of the category, from strategy to execution. The core responsibilities for this leadership role include:
- Category Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy to achieve revenue and profit (P&L) targets for your assigned category.
- Partner Management: Work closely with key restaurant partners and vendors to foster collaboration, develop joint initiatives, and ensure maximum satisfaction and performance.
- Market & Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor performance, and consumer behavior to identify growth opportunities and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience Optimization: Propose and implement initiatives to improve category presentation on the app, enhance restaurant discoverability, and elevate the end-customer experience.
- Project Management: Lead projects related to category expansion, promotional campaigns, and new offer launches in collaboration with marketing and operations teams.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Act as the central liaison between sales, marketing, operations, and data analytics teams to ensure aligned execution of category goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this senior position, you should meet the following criteria:
- Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in Category Management, Business Development, Marketing, or Strategy, preferably within an e-commerce, food delivery, or fast-moving retail environment.
- Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis capabilities using tools like Excel and BI dashboards, with proficiency in P&L analysis and data-driven decision-making.
- Commercial Acumen: Solid understanding of business principles, pricing strategies, promotional planning, and partner relationship management.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Personality: A dynamic, results-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with excellent communication and negotiation skills in both English and Arabic.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) is a strong plus.
