Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The appointed Store Keeper will be responsible for managing the daily operations within the warehouse efficiently. The core responsibilities for this role include:
- Goods Receiving: Inspecting and receiving incoming shipments, verifying their quantity and quality against purchase orders and invoices, and accurately recording them in designated logs.
- Storage and Organization: Storing materials and goods in their designated locations according to approved storage systems (e.g., FIFO - First In, First Out) to ensure easy retrieval and inventory integrity.
- Goods Issuance: Picking and issuing materials and goods based on requests from relevant departments or dispatch orders, ensuring all required documentation (like issue notes) is complete.
- Periodic Inventory: Assisting in conducting periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) stock-taking activities and participating in reconciling physical counts with electronic or manual records to identify any discrepancies.
- Maintaining Order and Safety: Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse, and ensuring compliance with all occupational health and safety procedures to prevent accidents, such as proper material stacking and clear aisles.
- Documentation and Reporting: Updating inventory records and databases accurately and in a timely manner, and preparing periodic reports on stock movement and levels for direct management.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinating with other departments such as Procurement, Sales, and Logistics to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications and Core Requirements
To be eligible for this opportunity, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A high school diploma as a minimum. Certificates or diplomas in Logistics Management or Warehouse Management are preferred.
- Work Experience: Proven prior experience in a similar role (Store Keeper, Warehouse Assistant) of at least 1 to 3 years. Experience within the Kuwaiti market is an added advantage.
- Personal Skills:
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail when handling numbers and documents.
- Excellent organizational and tidiness skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting and carrying boxes (within reasonable limits).
- Honesty and reliability in handling assets.
- Good communication skills for interacting with colleagues and suppliers.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel), and the ability to quickly learn specialized inventory and warehouse management systems.
- Other Requirements: Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic. A basic knowledge of English is beneficial.
