Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The successful Store Keeper will be integrated into the operations team and will be directly responsible for the efficient and meticulous management of the warehouse and its contents. Core responsibilities include:
- Goods Receiving: Inspecting and receiving incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders and invoices, and accurately recording them in designated logs.
- Storage and Organization: Storing goods in an organized and secure manner within designated warehouse locations, adhering to proper storage principles to ensure material safety and easy retrieval.
- Goods Issuance: Preparing and picking dispatch orders (for sales requests or internal transfers) based on authorized documentation, ensuring the accuracy of quantities and materials issued.
- Inventory Management: Assisting in periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) and continuous stock-taking activities, and participating in reconciling physical counts with system records.
- Record Keeping: Updating and maintaining inventory records manually or using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) if available, including records for inbound, outbound, and transfer movements.
- Safety and Housekeeping: Ensuring a safe and clean working environment is maintained within the warehouse, complying with all occupational health and safety procedures, and reporting any hazards or malfunctions.
- Coordination: Working closely with the Purchasing, Sales, and Logistics departments to facilitate material flow and support the company's operational processes.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
To be a qualified candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A commercial high school diploma or equivalent as a minimum. A certificate or training courses in warehouse management or logistics is preferred.
- Experience: Previous practical experience of at least 1-3 years in a similar role (Store Keeper, Warehouse Assistant) within the trading, distribution, or industrial sector. Experience in a fast-paced work environment is a strong advantage.
- Personal Skills:
- Accuracy and attention to detail when handling numbers and quantities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities.
- Basic numeracy skills.
- Physical ability to perform the job (standing, walking, lifting reasonable loads).
- Integrity and reliability.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel). Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software like SAP or Oracle is a significant advantage.
- Other Requirements: Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic. Basic knowledge of English is beneficial. Applicants must possess a valid residency permit (Iqama) for Saudi Arabia (for existing residents).
