Job Overview

The Store Supervisor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient daily operations of the store. This position serves as the crucial link between upper management and the floor staff.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

The Store Supervisor's responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership & Supervision: Directly supervising store staff (cashiers, shelf organizers, attendants, etc.), guiding them, and training them on established policies and procedures. Delegating daily tasks and ensuring their accurate execution.
  • Customer Service: Ensuring an exceptional level of customer service is delivered at all touchpoints. Handling customer inquiries and complaints professionally and effectively, working to resolve any issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Daily Operations Management: Overseeing the opening and closing of the store according to set procedures. Continuously monitoring the store's cleanliness, tidiness, and merchandising (facing) to maintain a professional and attractive appearance.
  • Inventory Management: Assisting in monitoring stock levels and conducting periodic inventory checks. Ensuring merchandise is correctly placed and priced. Reporting any shortages or product-related issues.
  • Achieving Targets: Working towards achieving set sales targets and operational goals for the store. Motivating and driving the team to meet these objectives.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensuring all staff comply with company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
  • Reporting: Preparing daily or weekly reports on store performance, sales, attendance, and any significant incidents or observations for store management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 to 3 years of previous practical experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a retail store environment. Experience in Kuwait or the Gulf market is a distinct advantage.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team towards common goals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
  • Organizational Skills: High ability to prioritize, manage time, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of customer service principles and retail store management practices. Basic knowledge of inventory and sales management procedures.
  • Personal Attributes: A proactive, reliable, and initiative-taking personality. Ability to work under pressure and make quick, sound decisions. Commitment and discipline at work.
  • Language Requirements: Proficiency in Arabic (native language) is essential. Knowledge of the English language is a strong advantage for dealing with systems and documents that may be in English.
