Supervisor - Airline Food Store | Abu Dhabi
A leading and confidential company in Abu Dhabi is actively recruiting for the position of Supervisor - Airline Food Store. Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The successful Supervisor will be fully responsible for overseeing all operations of the airline food store to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with the highest standards of quality and safety. Core responsibilities include:
- Operational Supervision: Leading and directing the store team to ensure all daily tasks related to the receipt, storage, preparation, and distribution of aircraft food supplies are executed according to precise timelines.
- Inventory Management: Accurately monitoring stock levels, implementing periodic inventory counting systems, ensuring the correct storage of perishable items in line with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP), and minimizing waste and shrinkage.
- Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensuring all store operations adhere to stringent local and international health regulations, food safety standards, and occupational safety protocols. This includes guaranteeing all stored products meet airline client specifications.
- Logistical Coordination: Coordinating with provisioning, kitchen, and transportation departments to ensure a seamless flow of materials from receipt to loading onto aircraft catering trucks.
- Training & Development: Training new team members and supervising the performance of the existing team, fostering a culture of safe, organized, and purposeful work.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintaining accurate records for inventory, material movement, and quality checks. Preparing regular performance reports for management on store operations and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Qualifications & Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Experience: Proven work experience of at least 3 to 5 years in a similar supervisory role, preferably within an airline catering, hotel, major restaurant, or food logistics distribution center environment. Experience in the aviation sector is a significant competitive advantage.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of inventory management principles, food safety, and logistical best practices. Knowledge of ERP or warehouse management software is a plus.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, with effective communication and delegation skills.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional level of accuracy and organization, with the ability to work under pressure and tackle operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Language Requirements: Proficiency in English for written and verbal communication. Knowledge of Arabic will be an additional advantage.
- Educational Qualification: A diploma or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
