Job Description

The Support Teacher will be a fundamental part of the educational team, responsible for providing the necessary academic and pedagogical support to ensure optimal learning outcomes for students. The teacher will work under the guidance of the main classroom teacher or grade-level coordinator, with a focus on enhancing the learning experience.

Key Responsibilities and Expected Duties:

  • Provide in-class educational support to small groups of students or individuals requiring additional assistance.
  • Assist in implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs, in coordination with the lead teacher and support specialists.
  • Prepare and organize supplementary teaching materials and resources under the supervision of the lead teacher.
  • Monitor student progress and record observations regarding their performance and behavior to provide feedback to teachers and administration.
  • Assist with classroom management and help create a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support extracurricular activities and school events as required.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

Academic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant academic subject (e.g., English, Mathematics, Science, etc.).
  • A recognized teaching certification (such as a PGCE, or a teaching license from your home country) is a strong and significant advantage.
  • Prior experience in teaching or educational support, particularly in an international environment or within British/American curricula, is a highly competitive advantage.
