Digismart Automation Company is actively seeking a qualified and motivated Testing & Commissioning Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The Testing & Commissioning Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and performance of automation systems delivered to clients. The core responsibilities for this position include:
- Planning and Execution: Developing and executing comprehensive test plans for automation and control systems (such as PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems) prior to site delivery.
- Field Testing and Commissioning: Performing on-site testing, startup, and commissioning activities at client facilities, including factories and industrial plants, to verify all systems operate according to technical specifications and design intent.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical faults and issues that arise during testing and commissioning phases, providing effective and timely solutions.
- Documentation and Reporting: Preparing detailed technical reports on test results, commissioning logs, and any deviations from specifications, and submitting them to relevant departments.
- Coordination and Support: Working closely with engineering design teams, procurement, project management, and client representatives to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensuring adherence to all applicable local and international safety and quality standards during all testing and commissioning operations.
- Training: Providing basic operational training to client operators and personnel on newly installed systems.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Control & Automation Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role, with a focus on testing and commissioning industrial automation systems. Experience with contracting companies or automation solution providers is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of industrial control systems (PLCs from brands like Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider).
- Strong understanding of SCADA/HMI systems (e.g., WinCC, Wonderware, Ignition).
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control panel drawings.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented approach.
- Flexibility to travel within Saudi Arabia to project sites as required.
- Additional Requirements: Proficiency in written and spoken English is typically required for handling technical documentation and international suppliers.
