Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions (QSTS) is inviting applications for the position of Total Rewards & Policy Specialist at its headquarters in Doha, Qatar. Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a central role within the Human Resources department, responsible for developing, managing, and implementing total rewards strategies and internal HR policies. Key expected responsibilities include:

  • Designing & Managing Rewards Packages: Contributing to the development and execution of comprehensive compensation and benefits (cash and non-cash) strategies that attract, retain, and motivate talent, ensuring competitiveness, equity, and compliance.
  • Compensation Analysis & Benchmarking: Conducting regular competitive compensation analysis, participating in salary and benefits surveys to ensure the company's rewards packages remain aligned with market best practices and industry standards.
  • HR Policy & Procedure Development: Drafting, reviewing, and updating internal HR policies and procedures (Employee Handbook, Internal Regulations) to ensure clarity, effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives and local laws.
  • Overseeing Grading & Salary Structures: Assisting in maintaining a clear and fair job grading structure, linked to appropriate salary bands.
  • Advisory & Support: Providing advice and guidance to management and the HR department regarding rewards matters and policy interpretation.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensuring all rewards policies and practices comply with applicable laws and regulations in the State of Qatar.

Qualifications & Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CIPD, CCP, GRP) are a significant advantage.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on compensation & benefits management and/or HR policy development. Experience in the engineering, marine, or oil & gas sector is a strong plus.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for complex analysis. Knowledge of HR Information Systems (HRIS) and rewards management systems.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and investigative skills. Ability to handle sensitive data with utmost confidentiality. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of labor market practices and employment laws in Qatar and the GCC region.
