Job Description and Responsibilities

The Warehouse Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency and smooth operation of all logistical and storage activities within the company's facility. He/She will be directly responsible for the comprehensive oversight of daily warehouse operations to achieve the highest standards of productivity, quality, and safety.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership & Supervision: Leading and managing the warehouse workforce, including supervisors and staff, assigning tasks, training the team, and ensuring a motivated and safe work environment.
  • Operations Management: Planning, organizing, and controlling all warehouse processes from goods receipt, storage, order picking, packing, shipment preparation, to dispatch.
  • Inventory Control: Ensuring accurate inventory records through regular and periodic stock counts, minimizing shrinkage or damage, and optimizing stock levels to meet demand while reducing carrying costs.
  • Safety & Compliance: Strictly enforcing and implementing all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures within the warehouse, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains, proposing and implementing technological or procedural solutions to enhance warehouse productivity.
  • Cross-Department Coordination: Working closely with Sales, Purchasing, Logistics, and Customer Service departments to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Reporting: Preparing weekly and monthly performance reports on warehouse activity, inventory levels, order accuracy, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior management.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. Equivalent proven extensive practical experience may be considered.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in warehouse management or logistics operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role as a Warehouse Manager or Senior Supervisor. Experience in the building materials or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management System (WMS) software. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate large teams, with excellent communication and delegation skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, monitor metrics, and make swift, effective decisions.
  • Logistics Knowledge: In-depth understanding of supply chain management principles, local customs regulations (in the UAE), and best practices in storage and shipping.
  • Language: Fluency in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of Arabic will be an additional advantage.
