Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The successful Welding Technical Trainer will be entrusted with a range of core responsibilities focusing on both practical and educational aspects:
- Practical Training: Deliver hands-on, intensive training programs in various welding techniques (e.g., SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW) in accordance with the highest international quality and safety standards.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and updating of training materials and curricula to ensure they align with the latest advancements and technologies in the industry.
- Trainee Assessment: Regularly evaluate the skills and performance of trainees, providing constructive feedback to help them improve their competencies.
- Health & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures and regulations during practical training sessions and instill this culture in all trainees.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee training equipment and tools, ensuring their periodic maintenance and safe operational readiness.
- Mentorship: Provide technical and professional mentorship to trainees, assisting them in troubleshooting technical challenges they may encounter.
Qualifications & Essential Requirements
To be a suitable candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, or any closely related engineering field. Professional welding certifications are highly preferred.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on welding experience in industrial settings (e.g., fabrication shops, construction sites, or major maintenance facilities). Proven experience of at least 3 years in technical training or supervising technicians is required.
- Technical Skills: Advanced practical proficiency in multiple welding techniques, with a deep understanding of international welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, API).
- Training Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and effective manner. Must possess leadership skills and the ability to motivate trainees.
- Professional Certifications: Holding recognized professional welding certifications (such as AWS CWI or equivalent) will be a significant advantage.
- Language: Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic is essential. Proficiency in English is a strong advantage for handling international technical documentation.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work between the company's sites in Dammam and Khafji as required by the training program schedule.
