Overview

  BJUT offers programs in eight disciplines, i.e. engineering, sciences, economics, management, humanities, law, education, and arts. BJUT boasts three State Key Disciplines, and 39 Municipal Key Disciplines. BJUT provides 20 first-class doctoral programs, 33 first-class masters’ programs, and 18 postdoc research centers. In addition, BJUT offers professional Master’s programs in 12 areas. The Master of Engineering program provides 17 sub-disciplines. BJUT provides 67 undergraduate majors, two of which are municipal university first-class majors. Five disciplines, namely Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science and Environment and Ecology rank top 1% in ESI Global List.  BJUT boasts two national engineering laboratories, three “111 Project” talent introduction bases, one national industry-academia-research center, one international cooperation center, one national province-ministry co-construction key laboratory breeding base, eight key laboratories/engineering research centers of the Ministry of Education, one strategic research breeding base of the Ministry of Education, 30 key laboratories/engineering technology research centers of Beijing Municipality, ten international science and technology cooperation bases of Beijing Municipality, three social sciences research bases of Beijing Municipality, four industrial key laboratories, and three collaborative innovation centers of Beijing Municipality.  Since its establishment 60 years ago, BJUT has provided more than 160,000 graduates for various fields of Beijing’s economic and social development. They are playing key roles on all fronts. BJUT has become an important base for high-quality innovative talents in Beijing, and an important force in scientific innovation and research & development, which is indispensable to regional economic and social development. BJUT has become an exemplary window for the achievements of municipal universities in Beijing.
