Tamkang University (TKU) is ranked by Global Views Monthly as the first in the "University of Humanities and Social Sciences" and ranked third in the "Degree of Internationalization" among the private schools in the "Taiwan's Best University Rankings" in 2022. Some of the many honors received by the university include:   The National Quality Award - TKU is the first university in Taiwan to employ the Total Quality Management (TQM) system. In 2009, it was awarded the 19th National Quality Award. Enterprises’ Favorite Private University – Since 1997, TKU graduates have been voted “Enterprises Favorites” in a survey conducted by a well-received Taiwanese business magazine "Cheers". In each of the eight essential qualities identified by the survey, TKU graduates ranked first out of all graduates from private universities in Taiwan.An International Safe School - In 2008, TKU was named by the WHO as an International Safe School. Subsequently, in 2012, it passed the WHO Safe School Re-evaluation. It is the first university in the world to be recognized as a safe school. First university in Taiwan to allow students to appraise teacher performance.First university in Taiwan to implement a Junior Year Abroad (JYA) program.First university in Taiwan to invent software and hardware for visually impaired students, enabling them to use the Internet and other technology.FIRA RoboWorld Cup Champion -  The TKU robot research team of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department has been crowned world champion on many occasions in the FIRA RoboWorld Cup. The team respectively won first place in the RoboSot League in 2003, 2006~2016; first place in the HuroCup League in 2007~2012, 2014~2016, and 2019 of the FIRA RoboWorld Cup; first place in the HIWIN Intelligent Robot Manipulator Hands-On Competition in 2014~2018. IT Service Management System certified institution - On January 6th, 2009, TKU was the first academic institution in the world to be certified as complying with the standards of the IT Service Management System-ISO/IEC 20000-1: 2005.Excellence in Physical Education Award - In 2009, TKU received an award for Excellence in Physical Education from the MOE, and it is the only university in Taiwan to have received this honor. In 2013, 2016, and 2020, TKU received the award again.Worldwide Competition on Microsoft Office - TKU encourages and assists students in participating in the Worldwide Competition on Microsoft Office. Tamkang students won first place in the 2009 Excel World Championship, won third place in the 2010 Excel World Championship, won first place in the 2011 and 2012 PowerPoint World Championships, second place in the 2013 Word World Championship, third place in the 2018 Excel World Championship, and the first place in the 2019 Word World Championship.Environmental awards - In 2011, 2012, and 2013, TKU received the R.O.C. Enterprises Environmental Award and the prestigious EPA Environmental Award.Friendly Campus Award - In September 2013, TKU received the 2013 Friendly Campus Award from the MOE, the only university in Taiwan to win the prize.Times Higher Education Impact Rankings - In 2023, TKU ranked 201-300 worldwide for overall performance, 59th in SDG4 "Quality Education", 27th in SDG6 "Clear Water and Sanitation", and 25th in SDG7 "Affordable and Clean Energy".
