Overview

The Lumière Lyon 2 University focuses on a strong and rigorous vision of higher education and research, driven by a spirit and values that are also its hallmark: humanist, open and committed. Located in the heart of the Metropolis of Lyon, it is one of the few universities to offer such a wide spectrum of disciplines: human and social sciences, humanities, law, economics and management. It hosts nearly 29,000 students and 1,800 staff (teachers and administrative staff) on 2 main campuses (Berges du Rhône and Porte des Alpes) and 3 complementary sites (Rachais, Ecully and Le Vinatier). Its varied training courses are aimed at all audiences and it combines openness and success for as many people as possible. Affirming its attachment to the principles of public service, the Lumière Lyon 2 University places the requirement for quality and academic ambition at the service of the development of critical thinking, intellectual training and understanding of our society. Through its research programmes and numerous actions to disseminate knowledge, it fully participates in social progress.
