This Specialization will introduce you to the magic of 3D printing. Through a series of four cohesive courses, you will acquire the knowledge and skills to turn your ideas into objects and your objects into ideas. This course brings together a unique mix of academics and industry through partnerships with Ultimaker, a leading desktop 3D Printer manufacturer, and Autodesk, the leader in 3D modeling software
What You'll Learn
- Master the fundamentals of 3D printing technology, exploring real-world applications transforming how we design, prototype, and manufacture products
- Learn to use industry-standard 3D modeling software and scanning technology to transform your creative ideas into printable designs
- Develop hands-on expertise with desktop 3D printer setup, operation, and maintenance, including practical knowledge of different printer types
- Learn and apply design thinking and product development principles, enabling you to conceptualize, prototype, and iterate on 3D printing projects
Prerequisites
- No deep prior experience is required, but basic computer and internet skills are helpful
- Ability to read course instructions in English and complete short practice activities
