Designing for Neurodiversity: Strategies for Educators

All students have a right to participate in education, whether they are neurodivergent or not. Not all neurodivergent people consider themselves to have a disability, but due to some differences in the way their brains work, and the way that higher education is currently set up, they may require support to complete their studies. The first module will help learners to better understand neurodiversity - including types of neurodivergent profiles, their strengths, barriers to diagnosis, and myths. Then we will focus on how you can help your neurodivergent students to thrive at university, by examining how to create a supportive environment and incorporate inclusive teaching strategies, as well as other resources and support for educators working with neurodivergent students.
