It’s already too apparent that the future of our planet and society depends on our ability to change the way we think, act, design and run our systems. However people are still struggling to turn this need for change into action. Environmental challenges seem too complex to be addressed by individual efforts alone. However, in this course we will show you that meaningful change is possible, starting from each person’s own circle of influence! This will greatly assist those who want to actively contribute to a sustainable world by adapting their organisation. We make it tangible by looking at the smaller level of one’s organisation: we believe that anyone can make effective changes by approaching not only primary products (e.g., equipment, consumer goods, or food) or services (e.g., health care, education or consulting), but also by transforming operations and involving the community. We will also investigate the actual environmental problems, informed by the latest scientific insights. The course is also suited for those who think they have limited ability to effect change in their own organisation. In fact, each of us has a circle of influence, and it’s often larger than we think. And even small steps of progress towards sustainability are good for the earth, for individuals, for society and for the organisation itself. The MOOC can be the starting point for everyone who wants to make an impact within their own circle of influence rather than sitting on the sidelines. After following the course, you will understand why action is needed by your organisation, and what can be done to get this sustainable change started, so that you will be able to take action to transform your own organisation and personal life. 3b:T6ab,
