About this Course

In the Indian tradition, leadership is grounded not in power or position but in qualities of character – guna (virtues), viveka (discernment), and seva (service). This course explores competence as capability with character, and how effective leaders balance knowledge with humility, courage with compassion, and ambition with purpose. Indian wisdom has long viewed leadership as an inner discipline before it becomes an external role. Competence, in this view, is not a narrow skillset but an integration of knowing, doing, judging, and continuously becoming. In a world shaped by complexity, uncertainty, and rapid change, this integrated understanding of competence has renewed relevance. At the centre of this course is the KABIL framework—a Hindi-Urdu term meaning "competent." KABIL is a practical model for personal and professional excellence, built on five pillars that represent core leadership attributes: Knowledgeable, Able, Bold, Intelligent, and Learning. Together, they form a dynamic approach to leadership as a living practice, blending deep philosophical insight with modern demands. As Indian wisdom reminds us, “ ज्ञानं कर्म च योगेन” — knowledge and action must move together. KABIL brings this insight into modern leadership through five interconnected pillars. 3b:Ta7b, Modu
