Job Overview
The Senior Engineer will be primarily responsible for the Authority's Asset Management System (AMS). Core to this responsibility is ensuring the smooth, efficient, and secure operation of this critical system, which serves as the backbone for tracking, valuing, and managing the Authority's diverse portfolio of domestic and international investments. The successful candidate will operate in a dynamic environment requiring a deep understanding of both technical principles and financial concepts.
Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical leadership for the Asset Management System's operations, including its design, implementation, upgrades, and periodic maintenance.
- Availability & Performance Assurance: Continuously monitor system performance, ensure maximum uptime, and respond promptly to any failures or performance issues to minimize downtime.
- Cybersecurity: Implement and evolve information security policies to protect the sensitive financial data processed by the system, adhering to best practices and regulatory standards.
- Integration & Interoperability: Manage integration interfaces between the AMS and other internal systems (such as accounting, reporting, and data analytics systems) and external systems from partners or market data providers.
- Support & Training: Provide advanced technical support to system users, including analysts and portfolio managers, and deliver training as needed on new features or improved procedures.
- Future Planning: Contribute to the strategic planning for system development, evaluating and testing new technologies or solutions that could enhance asset management efficiency and capabilities.
- Process Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for procedures, configurations, and system architecture.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., in finance or specific AMS platforms) is a strong advantage.
- Professional Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in managing and developing financial systems or asset management systems within major financial institutions, investment funds, or asset management firms.
- Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of Asset Management Systems (e.g., Bloomberg AIM, SimCorp Dimension, Murex, or custom-built solutions).
- Strong proficiency in databases (SQL) and data reporting/analysis tools.
- Experience with system integration concepts (APIs, web services).
- Understanding of information security and networking principles.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities under pressure. Team spirit with leadership and mentoring capabilities.
