Job Overview
The Cerner Application Analyst plays a pivotal role in bridging clinical needs with technological solutions within the hospital. This professional will be primarily responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective operation of health information systems, with a core focus on Cerner solutions that support clinical workflows and patient data management. This is a hands-on, on-site role requiring regular presence at the hospital to interact directly with end-users and understand ground-level operational needs.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Support & Maintenance: Provide daily technical and operational support for the clinical Cerner applications used across various hospital departments (ER, OPD, Laboratories, Pharmacy, Nursing, etc.).
- Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve technical and functional issues reported by medical and administrative staff, ensuring minimal system downtime.
- Training & End-User Support: Train and guide hospital medical and administrative staff on the optimal use of applications, creating help tools or documentation as needed.
- Testing & Upgrades: Participate in testing new updates, system modifications, or software patches before deployment in the live environment to ensure compatibility and stability.
- Communication & Coordination: Act as a liaison between the IT department and various clinical departments to understand their requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions within the Cerner framework.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure system usage complies with the hospital's health information security policies and relevant local regulations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: Proven prior experience (typically a minimum of 2-3 years) in supporting, managing, or analyzing Health Information Systems, with strong preference for direct hands-on experience with the Cerner Millennium platform.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of clinical workflows in a hospital setting. Good knowledge of databases and SQL queries. Strong process analysis and solution-oriented skills.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Arabic & English) to interact with diverse teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Capability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Location: The applicant must be a resident of the State of Kuwait and able to work from the hospital's location in Hawally.
