Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The successful consultant will hold a leadership position within the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery department, responsible for providing the highest standards of diagnostic and therapeutic care. The primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing and treating a wide spectrum of conditions related to the mouth, jaws, and face, including complex surgical cases.
  • Performing precise surgical procedures such as impacted tooth extractions, dental implantology, orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery, repair of facial and jaw fractures, and removal of benign and malignant tumors in the oral and maxillofacial region.
  • Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including dentists, orthodontists, plastic surgeons, and ENT specialists, to plan and execute comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
  • Supervising and mentoring medical residents and trainees, providing professional guidance and support.
  • Participating in continuous medical education activities, conferences, and workshops to stay abreast of the latest advancements and techniques in the field.
  • Adhering strictly to established safety protocols and internationally recognized standard medical practices.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records for all patient cases.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for this prestigious role, candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery followed by a Doctorate or Board Certification/Fellowship in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • Licensing: Must possess a valid Saudi Council for Health Specialties (SCFHS) Consultant license or be eligible to obtain one. Candidates with international board certifications (e.g., American, European, Arab Board) are highly preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 to 8 years of post-certification experience practicing as a Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, with a proven track record in a large hospital or specialized medical center setting.
  • Skills: Proficiency in complex surgical techniques and the ability to manage critical and complicated cases. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and make swift, accurate decisions.
  • Language: Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is mandatory. Proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage.
