Consultant Vascular Surgeon - United Arab Emirates

A premier medical facility in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Vascular Surgeon to join its dynamic team. Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assume a pivotal role within the Surgery Department, bearing responsibility for a wide range of specialized duties, including:

  • Patient Assessment & Diagnosis: Conducting comprehensive clinical evaluations of patients with vascular diseases (arterial and venous), and interpreting diagnostic imaging results such as Doppler ultrasound, CT angiography, and MR angiography.
  • Surgical Planning & Treatment: Developing comprehensive treatment plans for patients and performing a broad spectrum of advanced surgical procedures, including:
    • Carotid endarterectomy.
    • Open and endovascular repair of aortic aneurysms.
    • Bypass surgery for peripheral arterial disease.
    • Endovascular interventions such as angioplasty, stenting, and atherectomy.
    • Treatment of varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency.
  • Post-Operative Care: Overseeing the post-operative care of patients, monitoring their recovery, and managing any potential complications.
  • Leadership & Supervision: Providing guidance, training, and supervision to medical residents, fellows, nursing staff, and the specialized vascular team.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Working closely with cardiologists, interventional radiologists, endocrinologists, and physiotherapists to deliver integrated patient care.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, evidence-based clinical practices, and participating in quality assurance and improvement activities.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this prestigious opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Educational Background:

    • A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a recognized university.
    • Board Certification or equivalent in Vascular Surgery from an internationally recognized body (e.g., American Board, European Board, Arab Board, or equivalent).
    • A valid and transferable medical license from the current country of practice.
  2. Professional Experience:

    • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of post-board certification experience in Vascular Surgery, with a proven track record.
    • Demonstrated expertise in performing complex open vascular and endovascular procedures.
    • Experience working in an academic or teaching hospital setting is a significant advantage.
  3. Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and colleague interaction.
    • A deep commitment to patient safety and medical ethics.
    • Ability to work under pressure and make sound clinical decisions.
    • Proficiency in English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is a beneficial asset.
