Job Overview

Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Create and develop detailed 3D models for structural steelworks using Tekla Structures software.
- Prepare clear and accurate fabrication and erection drawings (e.g., Shop Drawings, Erection Drawings) extracted from the models.
- Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to understand design requirements and technical specifications.
- Review and coordinate models and drawings with other architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) designs to ensure integration and clash-free models.
- Update models and drawings based on feedback and revisions during design and construction stages.
- Ensure compliance with local and international quality standards, specifications, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to improving departmental processes and workflows through suggestions and practical expertise.
Required Qualifications and Skills
To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Work Experience: Proven hands-on experience of at least 3 to 5 years in a similar role as a Design Engineer or Tekla Modeler, preferably within a contracting or steel fabrication environment in the Gulf region.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures software is a mandatory requirement.
- Good knowledge of other CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and material properties, especially steel.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) concepts and management.
