Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (CAT B1 or B2) at Gulf Air
Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, is seeking skilled and licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to join its engineering and maintenance team. This critical role is for professionals holding a valid EASA Part-66 CAT B1 or CAT B2 license, who possess the experience and commitment to uphold the highest standards of safety and quality in the aviation industry.
Job Description and Responsibilities
The Licensed Engineer will be placed within Gulf Air's Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) division and will be responsible for a range of critical technical tasks that ensure the airworthiness and efficiency of the aircraft fleet. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing maintenance, repair, and routine inspections on aircraft in accordance with applicable regulations (EASA, IATA, and manufacturer specifications).
- Troubleshooting and rectifying complex defects in aircraft mechanical, electrical, and avionics systems (depending on B1 or B2 category).
- Issuing Certificates of Release to Service (CRS) after completing assigned maintenance tasks, within the scope of the held license.
- Reading and comprehending maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and technical documentation in English.
- Working closely with other teams such as Planning, Stores, and Operations to ensure tasks are completed on time without disrupting operational schedules.
- Adhering to all safety and security procedures in the hangar and work area.
- Participating in continuous training programs to stay updated on new technologies and revised procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be eligible for this opportunity at Gulf Air, you must meet the following criteria:
- Essential License: Possession of a valid EASA Part-66 CAT B1 (Mechanics, Structures, and Systems) or CAT B2 (Avionics and Electrical Systems) license.
- Experience: Proven hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance, preferably on modern fleet types such as the Airbus A320neo family, Boeing 787 Dreamliner, or similar.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory frameworks (especially EASA Part-145 and Part-M).
- Personal Skills: Ability to work under pressure, precision and attention to detail, and excellent communication skills for teamwork.
- Language Requirements: Proficiency in written and spoken English (the primary language for technical work). Knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage.
- Education: A degree or diploma in Aeronautical Engineering or a related technical field from a recognized institution.
