Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The engineer will be responsible for the technical and operational management of the precast concrete element production process, a vital component in modern construction projects. Core responsibilities include:
- Technical Supervision: Directly oversee daily production operations at the precast concrete plant, ensuring adherence to production lines and set timelines.
- Quality Control: Monitor and ensure the quality of the final product complies with local and international standard specifications (such as BS or ACI standards). This involves inspecting raw materials (cement, aggregates, steel, admixtures) and the processes of mixing, casting, and curing.
- Planning & Scheduling: Collaborate with the planning team to develop a realistic production schedule that aligns with project demands, considering available resources.
- Process Optimization: Analyze current production processes and propose improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity while maintaining the highest safety standards.
- Team Management: Guide and train production technicians and operators to ensure tasks are performed accurately and safely.
- Coordination: Work closely with design, project management, and quality control departments to ensure product conformity with structural drawings and designs.
- Safety: Implement and enforce all occupational health and safety protocols within the plant environment, contributing to a safe workplace for all.
- Reporting: Prepare regular technical reports on production progress, challenges encountered, solutions applied, and achieved quality levels.
Qualifications & Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in precast concrete production, with in-depth knowledge of various manufacturing stages (from design, molding, reinforcement, to casting, curing, stripping, and transportation).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of concrete properties and specifications, laboratory testing methods (compressive strength, shrinkage, etc.), and the ability to read structural drawings and details.
- Soft Skills: Leadership abilities and team management skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Problem-solving capability under pressure and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in basic computer software (MS Office) and engineering design software (like AutoCAD) is a distinct advantage.
- Language: Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and speaking. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
