Job Overview

The Senior Cost Control Engineer will hold a pivotal role within the project management team, responsible for the precise planning, continuous monitoring, and comprehensive reporting of all financial aspects of engineering and construction projects. This role aims to ensure adherence to approved budgets, identify any financial deviations early, and propose corrective solutions to guarantee the project's financial success.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop and implement effective cost control and budgeting systems for multiple projects.
• Prepare initial project cost estimates and update them periodically based on actual progress.
• Monitor and track financial commitments and actual expenditures against approved budgets.
• Analyze cost variances and identify their root causes.
• Prepare regular financial reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) detailing project cost performance and present them to senior management and stakeholders.
• Work closely with project managers, design engineers, execution teams, and subcontractors to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Review and evaluate project scope change requests and estimate their financial impact.
• Contribute to the tendering process by preparing detailed cost analyses.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures as well as industry standards.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

• Nationality: Applicants must be Saudi nationals in accordance with the Saudization program requirements.
• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance or Accounting. A Master's degree may be an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 to 10 years of proven experience in a similar role (Cost Control, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying) within the construction or project management sector.
• Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management software such as Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
  • In-depth knowledge of specialized cost control software (e.g., EcoSys, CostX, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and contract management.
• Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
