Job Description and Responsibilities

The Senior Telecom Engineer will hold a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the vital wired and wireless communication systems that support QatarEnergy's extensive operations. The responsibilities will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining telecommunications infrastructure, with an emphasis on meeting the high standards of performance and safety prevalent in the oil and gas industry.

The core duties for this position are expected to include:

• Leading and implementing projects for the development and upgrade of communication systems (e.g., telephone systems, wireless networks, fiber optic systems, and plant communication systems).
• Managing periodic and preventive maintenance operations for existing telecom infrastructure to ensure service continuity.
• Preparing technical specifications and tender documents for new telecom projects, and supervising their execution by contractors.
• Ensuring all communication systems comply with local and international regulations and standards, with a focus on safety and cybersecurity standards in the industrial sector.
• Providing specialized technical support and troubleshooting complex faults in communication systems.
• Working closely with other engineering teams (electrical, control, security) to ensure seamless system integration.
• Preparing technical reports and documenting all network changes and additions.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.

• Professional Certifications: Recognized professional certifications such as PMP (for project management), or certifications from major telecom equipment vendors (like Cisco, Huawei, etc.) are preferred.
• Soft Skills: Leadership skills and the ability to work within and manage technical teams. Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
