Be admitted or in the process of being admitted to a full-time Master’s or PhD graduate program at the University of Manitoba. Pre-master’s and occasional students are not eligible.
Have a minimum admission GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; departments may require a higher GPA.
Be registered full-time and progressing satisfactorily in their graduate program.
Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and no grade lower than C+ while holding the fellowship.
Show strong research potential and academic promise as judged by the department.
Not have held UMGF support for more than 4 years in total across their studies.
Not receive another award or scholarship of equal or greater annual value while holding the UMGF.
