Job Description

The Station Accountant will be responsible for the financial and accounting aspects related to a specific operational station or site within the company. He/She will report to a Finance Manager or Chief Accountant and will be the cornerstone for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the site's daily financial operations.

Key expected responsibilities include:

• Managing daily accounts and expenses related to the operational station.
• Recording accounting entries and ensuring ledger reconciliation.
• Preparing periodic financial reports (daily, weekly, monthly) on station performance.
• Monitoring budgets and expenditures, ensuring compliance.
• Coordinating with procurement and inventory departments for accounting of purchases and stock.
• Assisting in periodic inventory counts.
• Ensuring compliance with the company's internal financial policies and procedures.
• Collaborating with internal and external auditors as required.
• Utilizing accounting systems and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) to perform tasks.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven work experience of at least 3 years in accounting, with preference for experience in an operational or station-based environment (e.g., Oil & Gas, Logistics, Manufacturing).
• Excellent proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking). Knowledge of Arabic will be a strong added advantage.
• Deep knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Advanced skills in using Microsoft Office software, especially Excel.
• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A professional accounting certification (e.g., CMA, CPA, ACCA).
• Previous experience working with international companies or subsidiaries of large conglomerates.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
