  • Directly supervising commissioning and testing teams on-site during pre-handover and startup phases.
  • Planning, scheduling, and executing commissioning and testing activities for various project systems (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control).
  • Ensuring full compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures during all commissioning and testing operations.
  • Reviewing and approving commissioning and testing procedures (ITPs, Checklists, Method Statements) prior to execution.
  • Coordinating work closely with design engineers, construction contractors, and plant operators (client) to resolve any technical issues arising during the phase.
  • Preparing daily and weekly progress reports on work status, equipment condition, and any hitches or deviations from the plan.
  • Supervising initial startup and gradual system ramp-up operations.
  • Training and qualifying permanent operations personnel on new systems.
  • Ensuring all work is performed to the highest quality standards and agreed specifications.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

To apply for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in commissioning and testing for major industrial projects, with a proven track record of at least 3 to 5 years in a supervisory role (Supervisor or Team Lead).
  • Sector Experience: Previous experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Refineries, or Power Plant sectors is considered essential and highly preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of commissioning and testing phases, their standards (e.g., ISO, API, ASME), and relevant safety procedures.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead and motivate a multicultural team in a multidisciplinary, high-pressure work environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent English communication and reporting skills (verbal and written). Knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent planning, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
