Job Overview

The Configuration & Documentation Control Engineer will be primarily responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of all technical and engineering documentation related to the company's projects. Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Document Lifecycle Management: Oversee the process of creating, reviewing, modifying, approving, releasing, and archiving all engineering and technical documents (e.g., drawings, specifications, procedures, reports).
• Configuration Control: Ensure the identification, recording, documentation, and control of changes to the configuration of products or systems (hardware and software) throughout their lifecycle.
• Standards Compliance: Ensure all documentation management and configuration control processes adhere to rigorous industry standards (e.g., ISO standards, MIL-STD defense standards, internal customer requirements).
• Document Management Systems Utilization: Operate efficiently within specialized document management systems (e.g., Product Lifecycle Management PLM or Enterprise Content Management ECM systems) to maintain a centralized and secure database.
• Internal Coordination: Work closely with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure accurate and timely information flow.
• Reporting: Generate reports on document status, Engineering Change Requests/Orders (ECR/ECO), and configuration baselines to aid management decision-making.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or a related field) or equivalent.
• Experience: Proven work experience (typically a minimum of 3-5 years) in configuration management and documentation control, preferably within the defense, aviation, aerospace, or heavy engineering sectors.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • In-depth understanding of Configuration Management (CM) principles and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
  • Strong knowledge of documentation and quality management standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 10007).
  • Hands-on experience with engineering data and document management software (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, or similar).
• Personal Skills:
  • High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is a strong advantage).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
