Job Overview

The Psychological Counselor will be integrated into the Institute's student support services team. The primary responsibility will be to provide counseling and psychological support services to students. Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates are expected to meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A minimum of a Master's degree in relevant fields such as Psychological Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or Clinical Social Work. A Ph.D. degree will be a significant advantage.
  • Professional Licensing: Must possess a valid professional license or registration to practice psychotherapy or counseling in the State of Qatar, or be eligible to obtain one. Knowledge of Qatar's healthcare system and regulatory framework is essential.
  • Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in providing psychological counseling services, with a strong preference for experience in educational, university, or student counseling center environments.
  • Personal & Professional Skills:
    • Excellent command of both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
    • Outstanding effective communication and active listening skills.
    • Ability to build trusting relationships with clients from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
    • Knowledge of various counseling methodologies and theories.
    • Full commitment to the ethics of the psychological counseling profession and absolute confidentiality.
