Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive and specialized medical care in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Core responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosis & Treatment: Diagnosing and treating a wide range of women's health conditions, including gynecological disorders, pregnancy care, childbirth, and postpartum care.
  • Clinical Care: Providing primary and secondary patient care in outpatient clinics and inpatient hospital departments.
  • Surgical Procedures: Performing routine and complex gynecological surgeries, including cesarean sections, fibroid removals, hysteroscopies, and laparoscopies.
  • Antenatal & Postnatal Care: Supervising the care of pregnant women, conducting routine examinations, providing counseling, and managing labor and delivery to ensure the safety of both mother and child.
  • Team Collaboration: Working closely with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, technicians, anesthetists, and neonatologists to deliver integrated care.
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to the highest standards of medical practice, ethics, and protocols approved by the Omani Ministry of Health.
  • Professional Development: Contributing to continuous medical education activities within the institution.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

To be eligible for this distinguished career opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, followed by a recognized postgraduate degree/specialization in Obstetrics & Gynecology (MD/MS/DNB/Board Certification).
  • Licensing: The applicant must hold a valid medical license from their home country. Successful candidates will be assisted in the equivalency and licensing process with the Omani Ministry of Health.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of post-specialization experience in the field. Experience in large hospitals or multi-specialty medical centers is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills, with proficiency in performing gynecological surgical procedures. Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure and in emergency on-call situations.
  • Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential. Knowledge of the Arabic language is a significant advantage.
