Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Inventory Engineer will be placed within the Operations or Supply Chain department, responsible for the technical and engineering management of inventory systems. Core responsibilities include:

• Technical Inventory Oversight: Managing and organizing inventory of engineering materials, equipment, and project items, ensuring accuracy in recording and categorization.
• Warehouse Process Optimization: Designing and implementing engineering solutions to improve material flow, storage space planning, and the efficiency of receiving and issuing operations.
• Inventory Tracking System Management: Operating and assisting in the development of technical inventory tracking systems (e.g., ERP or WMS), ensuring their integration with procurement and project operations.
• Analysis and Reporting: Preparing periodic analyses of stock levels, turnover rates, identifying slow-moving or obsolete materials, and presenting management reports.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensuring the storage of materials (especially technical and engineering items) adheres to required standards and safety regulations, and complies with company policies and procedures.
• Cross-Department Coordination: Working closely with procurement, project teams, finance, and logistics departments to fulfill material requirements in a timely and seamless manner.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (this may include fields like Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering) or in a Supply Chain/Logistics-related field.
• Work Experience: Proven practical experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar role such as Inventory Engineer, Logistics Engineer, or Technical Warehouse Supervisor, preferably within an engineering, construction, or industrial project environment.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for complex analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Solid understanding of inventory management principles (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, ABC analysis).
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and investigative skills, meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective communication skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Language: Proficiency in English for handling technical systems and reports. Knowledge of Arabic is considered a distinct advantage.
