Job Overview

The Director of Operational Readiness will be primarily responsible for leading and coordinating all necessary operational preparations to ensure a seamless and efficient transition from the construction and development phase to the full operational phase of facilities within the Qiddiya project. This role is central to strategic planning operations and requires a deep understanding of mega-project management, operations, logistics, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategic framework for the operational readiness of all project facilities.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and internal operations teams to ensure all preparations are aligned with the overall launch timeline.
• Develop detailed operational plans encompassing facility management, logistics, human resources, training, technology systems, safety, and security.
• Identify and assess potential operational risks in the pre-opening phase and establish proactive mitigation plans.
• Oversee testing and commissioning procedures for facilities and systems prior to the official opening.
• Manage budgets related to operational readiness preparations and ensure compliance.
• Prepare detailed periodic reports for senior management on operational readiness status, obstacles, and key performance indicators.
• Build and develop a specialized operational readiness team and foster a culture of excellence and accountability.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in leadership roles related to operational readiness, mega-project operations management, or major launch management, preferably within the tourism, entertainment, or large-scale destination sectors.
• Proven experience working on multi-disciplinary, billion-dollar projects.
• Deep understanding of global best practices in operational readiness management and project delivery phases.
• Exceptional leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate teams and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for complex issues and decision-making under pressure.
• Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Arabic will be a significant advantage.
